A Quiet Friday

This morning, Mum and Dad both had to leave. Mum had meetings and Dad had an Anchorage run. That left me home with Tink as the other kids were at school. Whilst I was playing piano, Tink went off to play somewhere else, quietly so that she wouldn't desturb the music. After a while of piano, I went to my knitting project. But the house was too silent, and I found Tink asleep in her room - with a 102 degree fever.
We ended up watching the Disney princess movies all over again. Is it any wonder that I'm constantly singing the songs from them - especially "Once Upon a Dream?" Knitting is wonderful for days like these, because I can set my project in my basket and pause whenever I need to so that I can take care of Tink. Also, it's very soothing to me. (And I don't have to watch what I'm doing so that I can see the movie.)
Since the coming of Autumn, it's the perfect weather for hot cocoa. And what better to drink from than a cup with my name on it? With a Disney hippo? (It's from a zoo in Germany, I believe it's the one near to Cologne.)

  1. Laura, you have painted the picture of peacefulness. How lovely to spend a quiet day at home, knitting and caring for little Tink. :) She is blessed to have you for a big sister!

Can you tell me about your family (no details, it is blog land)... you mentioned foster children? I'm just curious! I've always had an interest in fostering.
